Originally a deer park for the occupants of St James's Palace, this central London park is lovely to stroll around, and kids will be particularly spellbound by the pelican-feeding by the lake, which happens between 2.30pm and 3pm every day.
Changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace
Tickets to go inside Buckingham Palace can be expensive, but it's completely free to stand outside the famous gates and watch the changing of the guard, which takes place daily from May to July at 11am.

An opportunity for kids to learn what school life was like for poor and destitute children back in the 1800s, this museum allows visitors to take a class in a reconstructed Victorian classroom.

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
